Gotham City

Trinity paced in her bedroom furiously. ‘Why would they put blame on her?’ She thought. Either it was just a ploy to get away, or someone was trying to frame her on purpose. She had already gone over the footage but recognized none of the men.

A knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. “Dinner is ready, miss,” Alfred said. Trinity only nodded but continued pacing. “At this rate you’ll wear a path in the floor.”

Trinity stopped and looked at him. She sighed and sat on the bed. “Sorry,” she mumbled.

“What troubles you?” Alfred ventured further into the room.

“It’s nothing.”

“Well if it was nothing the carpet would be in perfect condition,” he teased.

Trinity looked up at the wise old man and couldn’t help but crack a smile. It quickly went though and she returned her gaze to the floor. “I’m worried about what happened today. I don’t know if it was a fluke, or thought out plan..”

“What does your gut tell you?”

Trinity closed her eyes to think, though she already knew the answer.

Alfred waited but a moment before continuing, “I do believe you already know the answer to that question.”

Trinity opened her eyes and fixed her gaze upon him. “Do you always give advice to strangers?”

“Please, miss Trinity, I hardly believe we are much of strangers. Besides,” he winked, “another mind always helps solve a mystery.”

Trinity stood and smiled, “I suppose your right. Thank you.” He merely returned the smile and nodded. She followed him down to the dining room where surprisingly Bruce and Damian were there.

“Where’s Felicity?” Damian asked her.

“You mean she hasn’t returned?” Trinity replied.

“No.”

Trinity pulled out her phone and dialed her sisters number. No answer. Trinity’s heart dropped. “I’m going out to find her.”

“You think somethings happened?” Bruce stood.

“I know something has. She always tells me if she’s gonna be late.” She headed for the garage as the others followed her. She dialed the number again. This time it went through. “Felicity, where are you I-“

“Hear hear boys. I think its the sister!” Laughter could be heard on the other side.

Trinity froze in her tracks. Her grip tightened around the phone. “Who is this?”

“Ah, now that would ruin the fun. All you need to know is we have your sister.”

“I swear if you hurt her-“

“Tick tock, time is running short. Hope you can find her, otherwise,” he paused for effect, “us boys will have fun tonight!” Whoops and hollers could be heard in the background and the line went dead.

Trinity gripped the phone so tight that when she pulled it from her ear, it was smashed. She turned to Bruce, “I’m going after her. Meanwhile find out why those burgalars were trying to blame her.” She turned and headed for a bike. Without further discussion she rode into the night to find her sister. “Hold on Felicity.. I’m comin.”

Felicity sighed as she sat in the mansion across from Bruce. “You were lucky this time, why does it seem that the world is against you?”

“I don’t know, you tell me.” Felicity looked into his eyes. “I don’t want to do anything that will break the deal.” Felicity got up and headed to the door. “Thank you for believing us.” She headed for the front door, but Damian stopped her with his hand.

“Where are you going?”

“Out.” Felicity’s eyes flashed a golden brown and the door moved open without any ones help. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back.”

Felicity jumped into the air and flew into the sky, avoiding being found and landed in the alley streets near the pier. She pulled on her hood and headed down the walk trying to find any sign of the ones who had hurt her sister.

The explosion had been cleaned up but she had a feeling that the attack wasn’t just Penguin alone. He had to working with someone and they were going to pay. Felicity paced the docks looking for the evidence of anyone elses involvement and she couldn’t find anything.

She knelt down at the spot her sister had fallen off and ran her fingers along the charcoal pieces on the board. Click! ‘What are you doing here little girl?” Felicity looked out the corner of her eye and saw the end of a gun so close to her face.

“I was just taking a walk.” She puts her eyes up and stood up slowly.

“Didn’t you mom teach you not to walk home at night alone?”

“Didn’t your mom teach you it is not nice to point guns at people?”

Felicity’s flashed gold and his gun fell heavy to the wood. “You…you?”

“I…I…I…” She hit him in the chest and he flew into the air. Then something slammed into her head and she fell to the ground unconscious.

Quinn woke up saturday morning glad that she didn’t have to go school with that demon. She dressed quickly and headed to Damian room to wake him, but she found Bruce wayne in the hall. “Don’t worry about waking him today, I’m giving you the day off, so please take your sister out for the day. She’ll probably want to go out.”

Trinity sat on the floor of her room, her legs crossed in a meditating way. She calmed herself and then began to work out, pushing her injuries to the limit. She stood, stretching and smiled. ‘It’s good to be back,’ she thought. She changed into more comfortable clothes and headed to her door. She walked out into the hallway and saw her sister conversing with Wayne. She walked over to them. “Good morning.”

“Good morning!” Felicity smiled at then nodded at Bruce “Thanks.” She took her sisters hand.

“Where are we going?” she asked Felicity as they headed down the stairs.

“Out anywhere. I’m finally free for the day, lets get out of here before that devil wakes up.” She pulled Damian’s motorcycle keys out of her pocket and opened the front door.

Trinity just smiled and followed her sister, “Want me to drive?”

“No, your still in recovery, plus after this week, I want to take a turn on this bad boy.”

Trinity laughed, “Very well. I suppose that is fair. Take me on an adventure, young driver.”

Felcity took the reigns and drove them into the heart of Gotham. “Shopping, Arcade, food anything. It’s on Wayne’s dime, so don’t feel bad.”

“Well isn’t he being generous. I’m up for anything lil sis. Take me where you want to go.”

Felicity took her sisters hand and dragged them into the arcade to play some games before lunch. “need to make sure you aren’t losing your touch.”

Trinity laughed, “Oh please. I’m always going to be the best.” She stood over an old arcade game and stuck a quarter in. She was immediately enveloped in the game and easily passed the high score and it kept climbing.

“she must be cheating.” Felicity heard over her shoulder. “Losers.”

“Just because you’re jealous doesn’t mean you have to accuse me of cheating,” Trinity said while still playing.

“Seems like we are accused of a lot of things.” Felicity put a quarter in the next game and quickly danced to the moves.

Trinity finally grew bored of her game and left it without finishiing it. She picked up a guitar and began playing guitar hero. She chose expert and began strumming away on one of the hardest songs. She even began singing along to the song, not caring others were looking at her.

Felicity turned and stopped really thirsty after that and grabbed her sister without asking if she was done and took her to the food court for some food. She laughed at all the little batman stuff that they saw as they walked there.

“Should I get a Batman shirt just to spite him?” Trinity smirked.

“That’s what I was just thinking.” Just as they were passing the bank someone ran out and the alarm rang out loudly and the man ran into Felicity pushing her the ground and then continued to run.

“Hey!” Trinity shouted angrily, readying herself to go after them, but paused to help her sister up.

“I’m fine let’s go.” They began to follow them, but someone grabbed onto Felicity’s arm and they turned to find the security man wrappiing a cuff around her wrist. “You’re under arrest for being that man’s accomplice.”

Trinity grew angry, “Accomplice?! What are you talking about?” She got in his face.

“Back down, miss the proof is here.” He reached into Felicity’s jacket and pulled out a bundle of cash that had been from the bank.”

“He bumped into her! He must have put it there! She has been with me this whole time. I can witness to that. Now you better uncuff her right now, or there is going to be trouble.”

“MIss you need to back down or I will be taking you into custity too.”

“What’s a rent a cop going to do to me?” Trinity spat.

“you need to step back miss.”

Trinity took a slight step back but then cocked her right arm back and decked the security officer in the face. She released the cuffs from her sister. “C’mon, let’s go get them.”

“Okay.” Felicity followed her sister.

They turned the corner to go after them but found themselves soon surrounded by more security guards, but this time they had there guns drawn. “Get on the ground! Hands behind your head!”

“I could…” Felicity talked about her powers. Looking at her sister.

Trinity looked around at their situation. She sighed angrily and put her hands behind her head. “He’ll find us.. Besides, we don’t want them to know about our powers,” she whispered. She slowly got to her knees.

“but…” She copied her sister tyring to keep her powers in check.

“The camera’s will prove your innocence,” Trinity said as the security grew closer to them. She felt handcuffs tighten around her wrists and her arms yanked down. She looked back to see the man she had punched in the face. His nose was bleeding and she coudn’t help but laugh. He yanked her to her feet, “What were you saying earlier?” Trinity continued to laugh, “You’re just lucky other people are around.”

“You’re lucky you aren’t loosing your heads for this… But maybe you’ll lose your jobs.”

They took them to a security office to wait for the police. Trinity’s face had become stoic as she tried to keep her emotions in check. Soon a detective walked through the door and looked at them, “This them?” the oversized detective asked.

“Yes, sir. They avoided arrest from us. The younger one had this in her pocket,” the security guard Trinity had punched said while handing him a wad of cash.

“Because she is innocent. Check the camera’s. I’m sure you’ll find that it was slipped in there at the time they were running out,” Trinity spat.

Detective Flask looked them over and back to the security guard. “Show me the camera feed.”

They obeyed and brought the footage back up. Once the explosion went off however, the camera’s went offline.

Trinity glared, “You’ve got to be kidding me! Listen Detective, we were shopping just like everyone else when it went down. They ran out past us and bumped into my sister, slipping the money into her pocket. We stopped because we are innocent.”

“Yeah, once we pulled guns on you,” the security guard growled. “She punched me in the face to get away.”

“You deserved it for being an idiot,” Trinity smirked.

“Why you,” he walked towards her.

“That’s enough,” Detective Flask pushed him back. “For now you two will come with us in custody until we can sort out what’s going on.”

“Are you serious?!” Felicity shouted.

Trinity’s patience was almost gone and she glared as she spoke, “Every minute you waste with us, the real crooks are getting away.”

Detective Flask waved and cops moved towards them. “Well, we’ll see who the real crooks are.”

They stood and headed out towards the cop cars. As they got there three men sat on the hood of the car tied up and the money sitting in bags next to the car. Batman and Robin walked out of the shadows towards Detective Flask and the sisters.

“They are innocent. These are the men you are looking for,” Batman said.

“Oh really now?” Detective Flask glared at Batman. “We found this in her pocket,” he waved the cash in his face. “What do you say to that?”

Batman held out a disk, “This is the camera footage that was taken out. It shows one of them slipping it in her pocket.” He walked over to the girls and the cops stepped back. He uncuffed them and began to leave.

“You can’t do this!” Flask yelled.

Batman smirked, “I just did.”

Trinity smiled back at them and saluted them with a bird. “Good day, Detective.” She grabbed Felicity’s arm and headed to the parking lot. “You better drive home or I’m going to break some traffic laws.”

Damian pushed open the door and tossed her jacket and bag into Felicity’s arms.

“You can take these to my room for me.”

“What? Your serious?”

Alfred walked into the room, “Come now Master Damion. You are old enough to do that yourself. Ms. Soars, your sister is awake. She wants to talk to you.”

“She’s awake?” She dropped his stuff and her stuff to the floor and dashed up the stairs into the room where she was. “Sis!”

Trinity was sitting up in her bed, trying to get over her dizziness. She smiled as her sister entered the room, “Felicity.” She held open her arms for a hug.

“TRINN!” She ran to her sister and wrapped her arms around her.

Trinity held her sister close, “You’ve been busy since I’ve been out. I’m sorry.. I should have been better.”

“NO. It was my fault.”

Trinity pulled her sister back, “Your fault? Whatever do you mean?”

“The deal. I couldn’t loose you to government.”

Trinity smiled, “I couldn’t have done better myself. Besides, this is certainly better than me having to break out and become a criminal to get to you. And..” she cut off for a moment, “him finding us..”

“Yeah.” Felicity took her sister’s hands. “I am not sure I am liking it right now.”

Trinity studied her sister, “What is it?”

Felicity sighed. “Since I am to young to work in a corprate office. I’m Damian’s personal assistant and tutor

“Really now. Well, I’ll talk with Mr. Wayne and get this sorted out. Don’t you worry about a thing.”

“No. I’ll do it. He said that he would keep Damian under wraps until he finds me something.”

“If you’re sure. He doesn’t intimidate me. I can talk to him.”

“Sis. It doesn’t matter what I have to do, as long as we’re together.”

Trinity smiled, “I agree. Now help me up. I can’t stand being cooped up. Show me around the house, or should I say, mansion.”

“No, you are staying in bed. I have to tutor Damian.”

Trinity pouted, “Oh c’mon! I’m fine. It’s not that bad.”

“Fine. I’ll take you to the dining room, but you aren’t lifting a finger.” Felicity’s eyes turned gold and Trinity lifted from the bed. She walked down the room with her sister following her floating in the air by her power. She used her powers on Damian’s and her backpack and took it over to the table. She sat her down into the table.

Felicity turned and caught Damian crossing the entry way of the dining room and Felicity’s eyes caught him and dragged him and pushed him to the chair across from Trinity. “Good. Now that everyone is here. Damian do your homework. Trinity…. you…”

“I’ll work on breathing exercises or something. Don’t mind me,” she smiled.

“Good.” She turned to Damian and used her powers to take his book out, slam in on the table and open it to the page they needed to work on. “Now…” She began explaining exactly what he needed to do.

Trinity couldn’t help but smile as her sister took charge in his studies. Since they were intent on studying she took the opportunity to look around. She stood and hobbled across the room, being quiet as to not disturb them. With that she walked out of the room and began to look around.

“Wait, why aren’t you doing your work?” Damian turned to her. Felicity stopped in mid sentence. “I am.” She pointed to her book and pencil that was writing on it’s own. “Wow, that’s almost like harry potter.” “Shut up, pay attention. It’s hard to concentrate on talking to you and writinig my answers.”

Trinity walked slowly around the main floor, looking at the different rooms. She stopped in the living room as a picture caught her eye. She walked over to it and looked up at it. Above the fire place sat a huge portrait of a couple. They were smiling and looked really good together.

“WRONG!” A folded paper slapped Damian’s hand. “That is wrong! UGH! ARE YOU STUPID?! I TOLD YOU, this here and this here and then carry the 5.”

“My parents,” a voice called out and caused her to turn. She saw Bruce Wayne leaning in the entry way. He stood up and walked over.

‘When did he..’ “They look very happy in this portrait.”

“Yes, they were. It was painted shortly before they were killed.”

Trinity looked down knowing the story, “I’m sorry.”

Damian slapped his head against the text book. “I can’t do this.”

“Don’t worry, your done.”

“What’s done is done. Now, perhaps would be a good time to discuss the situation.”

Trinity nodded and followed him back to where Felicity and Damion were.

Felicity used her powers to tuck away their books and cleared the table.’

Trinity sat down next to her sister while Bruce stood to speak.

“For now, you two may remain here, until you can afford to be on your own,” he started. “Some rules to lay down though. First, no more stealing, or any crime for that matter. Second, you will most likely be called on to help us with crime fighting. You are skilled, and we could use the extra man power. Finally, no killing. If this rule is broken, our deal is off. Understood?”

“I don’t kill.” Felicity said.

Bruce nodded and looked at Trinity, “Is that understood?” he prompted.

Trinity had her head down but looked up at him as he called on her, “Yes.”

”Yeah.” Felicity took her sister’s hands. “I am not sure I am liking it right now.”\

Trinity sat down next to her sister while Bruce stood to speak

Bruce circled his chair around, “Damion, Felicity. Good to see you.”

He smiled, but of course that smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. He nodded to his secretary and she left the room. It was now just those three. “I’m sure Damion has informed you that you will be given a job?”

“Yeah..”
“Good.” He stood and walked over to the window, looking out onto the city. “I have a special job in mind for you. Of course with you not being 16 I can’t give you an official job, so your sister will have to be mostly responsible for that. So I had a different job in mind.”
Damian got a smirk on her face that only sent more chills down her spine. ”What?’
“You will be, say, kind of a personal assistant to Damion. You will help tutor him in subjects if he needs it, and when needed, assist him in crime fighting.”
“What?!”
“Think of it as a new kind of exercise. You will have to learn to tolerate each other. Do not worry tho, I will make sure that Damion doesn’t abuse this.
“Right… A womanizer like you…”
Bruce turned back, his face no longer that of a billionaire playboy but one that would scare anyone, “Need I remind you that I don’t need to do this. This is simply temporary until I find something else for you to do. If you don’t like it then you can deal with someone else.”

”I… ” Felicity sighed. “I apologize.” She looked at Damian and looked away. Great another man to control her and her sister’s life, maybe it was better than prison though.

Bruce relaxed and put himself in check. “I assure you that as long as you do your best for restitution, you and your sister will be safe from Ra’s Al Ghul.”

 ”how can I trust you?”

”Have I given you any reason not to so far?” He sat back down in his chair and continued not waiting for her answer. “I give you my word, I will help you. Besides, if you couldn’t, your sister would be in jail and you would be in a foster care system.”

Her heart stopped. Felicity regained her confidence and marched up straight  to his desk. “Mr. Wayne. There aren’t a lot of people in the world that I trust. Please do not betray it.”
Bruce studied her for a moment and sat back in his chair, linking his hands together. He smiled, this time genuinely, “You have my word.”

She turned around and held back her tears. “Shall we head back to the mansion?”

”You two go on ahead. I’ll be there shortly after I finish my work. When I get there, we will go over some rules.” He then returned to some paperwork on his desk.
”See ya Dad.” Once the elevator door closed Felicity smashed her fist into Damian’s arm. “Jerk.”

Damian pushed open the door and tossed her jacket and bag into Felicity’s arms.  ”You can take these to my room for me.” ”What? Your serious?”

Alfred walked into the room, “Come now Master Damion. You are old enough to do that yourself. Ms. Soars, your sister is awake. She wants to talk to you.”

School quickly ended and Damian wouldn’t let Felcity out of his sight. They hopped on his motorcycle and headed to the Wayne Building.

They took a private elevator to the top and headed straight into Bruce Wayne’s office. “Hey Dad.”

Bruce circled his chair around, “Damion, Felicity. Good to see you.”

Felicity felt a chill rundown her spine and looked at Bruce. “Mr. Wayne.”

He smiled, but of course that smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. He nodded to his secretary and she left the room. It was now just those three. “I’m sure Damion has informed you that you will be given a job?”

“See ya Dad.” Once the elevator door closed Felicity smashed her fist into Damian’s arm. “Jerk.”

Trinity awoke to her head throbbing. She sat up slowly, grasping onto her bandaged head. She glanced at her surroundings, unable to place where she was. One thing she could tell tho was that she wasn’t in jail. “Where am I?” she thought out loud.

Alfred Pennyworth knocked softly on the door and then entered without a answer. He noticed that Trinity was awake. He walked over to her side and placed the tray on her nightstand. “Good morning, Ms. Soars.”

Trinity watched him walk over to her, “Why am I not in jail?” she asked confused.

“Your sister made a deal.” Alfred recited the deal to Trinity.

Trinity shook her head slightly and smiled. She glanced at a clock and noticed it was almost noon. “I’m late for work!” she jumped up and immediatly found that wasn’t a good idea. She fell back to the bed.

Alfred helped her back into bed. “Mr. Wayne has requested your day off for you to rest and recover.”

Trinity sighed, “Great.. I had to go and get myself hurt. Now I’m useless. Felicity will have to do more now because of me..”

“Mr. Wayne will inform you of all the conditions of the deal. You may sleep and rest until everyone returns home.” He paused as he walked to the door, “If I may say so, because of you Master Wayne is in good health. He won’t forget that. And as for your sister, she cares for you a lot. I don’t think she will mind so much. Just focus on getting better, Ms. Soars.”

Trinity smiled and nodded, “Thank you.”

Damian pulled up to Gotham Academy and when they stopped, Damian turned to her and saw that she was clutching him tightly. “Scared?”

“Shut Up!” She flipped her leg over the bike and made her way to the school, but Damian grabbed her hand and pulled her back into him. His arm slipped around her waist and she looked down at him on his bike. “Hey, remember what my dad said.”

“I know.”

He held her eyes and wouldn’t let her go. Damian leaned in closer to her and when she felt his breath close to her face. She pulled away and turned away from him. “Let’s go.”

“Yeah. Oh..” She stopped and turned to him. “My father wanted you to stop by the company building later for your… job.”

“Whatever. Do you know what it is?”

“Yeah, but I ain’t gonna tell you.” Damian took her and pulled her along after him. She blushed as she saw other students eyes on her and many of the girls were glaring at her. “You can let go of my hand.”

“I could, but I won’t.”

Felicity stepped of the bus and looked at the tall school of Gotham Academy. She looked around and saw a motorcycle pull up in one of the parking spots. She noticed the cheerleaders congregating near the fountain and the nerds talking about the “batman’s” latest success. Felicity sighed. “How… Normal.”

She pushed her way into the school and fought her way into the office. “May I help you?”

“I’m here to pick up my schedule. Felicity Soars.”

“All right I’ll have it out for you in a minute just take a seat” Felicity smiled at the woman and stepped back, but didn’t realize someone was behind her and she bumped into someone taller than her. “Oh sorry.” She turned and looked into a helmet.

“Mr. Wayne would you please refrain from bothering her and remove that ridiculous helmet now, you are inside the building.” Felicity watched him as he pulled the helmet from his head and looked down at her with a smirk. “Sorry, Mrs. P”

“Oh look, you and Ms. Soars have homeroom together. You shall be her escort today Mr. Wayne.”

“Wha-? Why me?”

“Because you insist on me treating you like any other kid at this school, when you are the son of the richest man in the country, here is a task I wish to assign to you Mr. Wayne. Accept this, or detention.”

‘Mr. Wayne’ sighed heavily and looked at her. “Soars?”

“Umm yeah.”

“Ummm yeah? Why not just say, yeah.”

“MR. WAYNE!”

“Okay I get it I get it. My names Damian, by the way and you are.”

“Felicity.”

“Cool.” He didn’t look any more excited about escorting her than she did about being escorted.

How the heck did he get behind me without me noticing.

Throughout the day Damian led her around the school and it was driving Felicity mad. “I’m gonna use the little girl’s room.” Felicity slipped inside and looked at a way to get out, but there wasn’t anything that was going to let her out. “Suck.”

Felicity waited until more girls came in and she slipped out and looked around the corner to see Damian distracted by some of the cheerleaders. She smirked. “Typical.” She slipped into a group of people walking by and made her way down the hall without him noticing. She then made her way to the music section of the school and slipped into one of the empty music rooms.

If there was one thing that Ras taught her that she loved it was music. She supposed he wasn’t all bad. She slid into the piano seat and ran her fingers over the keys. She began to play one off her favorite pieces by David Lanz. The fluttering of her finger tips over the keys mimicked the title of the song Sound of Wings. She couldn’t help but smile to her self as she played.

She then decided she wanted a piano in their pent house. A grand piano like the one in front of her. But there was no way that she could get the money for it.

“There you are.” Her fingers slipped as she heard Damian wayne behind her. She cringed at the dischorded notes.

“Thought you could slip passed me.” He laughed as she stopped playing. “You won’t get away from me. I’m a ninja.”

She smirked got up from her seat and pushed open the window that was on the second floor and looked out at the back of the building. “Funny.” She climbed up onto the window ledge and looked at the ground below. “So am I.” She jumped and grabbed onto the ledge of the building and flipped back grabbing the flag pole and slid down to the ground. Just as she landed the bell rang and she ran over to the bus without looking back.
